Artistic reproduction by Matías Larraín exclusively for the Danish manufacturer. Printed on high-quality 265 g art paper.

Argentinian artist Matías Larraín creates lively motifs, inspired by everyday life with a playful lightness. "I look for inspiration in everything: it can be a movie, a song, a bike ride."

As he says, his artistic style is free, simple and full of colors. He studied visual communication design and treated his illustrations as a materialization of his sensations, feelings and experiences.

“Colors are the protagonists of many of my works,” he says, continuing: “I can spend hours studying how they behave with each other and what emotions certain combinations evoke.”

In his words, he describes his artistic universe as a combination of passion for illustration and professional experience as a graphic designer. “Both disciplines gave me the necessary tools and versatility to work as a full-time artist,” he says.

Matías draws much inspiration from other artists and designers, but finds his greatest joy in the work of children and adults who have never had formal art training. He explains that he is inspired by the apparent transparency of these works.

Matías grew up in the foothills of the Andes in Argentina, but decided to move to France in 2017 after meeting his future wife, Marie. The change forced Matías to leave his comfort zone and gave him the opportunity to rediscover himself and continue his career as an illustrator.

Moving from Argentina to France also had a huge impact on his private life, as he had to learn another language and adapt to a new culture. This means that Larraín today has friends from several different countries and they share a common Saturday tradition of meeting for dinner cooked with inspiration from their homeland. “It's a good Saturday!” - says.

In addition to hanging out with friends, Matías is also passionate about outdoor adventures. He especially likes cycling - this year (2023) he and his wife ride around Europe all year round. “This will be a special year for me. I'm curious how this new reality will affect my illustrations.
